The Charles Walker Band is a 5 piece band that performs various styles of Blues, R&B and funk with precision and energy. What adds to the band uniqueness, apart from award winning musicians (together for 4 years), is the richness of the original material. As one critic said, “Real edge of your seat, power wire blues.” A quote from Noggin Blues Matters! Magazine describes them best, “...we are treated to the full panoply of Blues styles, great tunes, intelligent lyrics, and superb instrumentation throughout.” For more information visit www.walkerblues.com

About Joan Zen : “It’s a soulful groove with a unifying purpose… Joan Zen and fellow Zen band members are missionaries of peace and light. Zen’s bluesy vocals cross the boundaries of reggae, jazz, and R & B. Lis-Zen closely for the message is sure to follow… May all beings experience spiritual awakening for the benefit of all.” For more information visit www.joanzen.com and www.myspace.com/joanzen1

New South Fork Bluegrass

Following the Marathon
Saturday, September 13
7:00 PM
Island Park, Salmon

A traditional Bluegrass band that combines feverish musicianship with unique harmonies to form a sound that is smooth and unforgettable.

Band members are Fred Frank on mandolin, Emily Frank on guitar, Carrie Bean on electric bass, Tom Middleton on banjo, and Jeff Forbes on fiddle. Together they provide everything bluegrass is known for. You can view more info at their web site www.newsouthfork.com. Listen to a sampling of “Berry Picking” and “Running”.

You will definitely want to come wet your whistle after that long run, lounge on the lawn, and you might find that a little toe tapping or dancing will help keep your muscles from cramping! Of course this isn’t only for runners, families will enjoy this as well and everyone is welcome.

Sponsored by Steele Memorial Medical Center and Ken Hill. Thank you!
